Tucson Unified School District

The Tucson Unified School District is located in central Tucson, encompassing 228.54 square miles of property area. The Tucson Unified School District is the largest school district in Pima County in regards to enrollment.

The district was founded as “class District No. 1″ in 1867, and assumed its present title in 1977. The district has nine traditional high schools and a number of middle and elementary schools. The biggest high school in the district, in terms of enrollment, is Tucson High Magnet School near downtown Tucson.  Tucson High School is also one of the oldest public high schools in Arizona.
